Putin: We cannot stop the fire when they advance on us!

Putin: We cannot stop the fire when they advance on us!

Putin ten minutes later: “The enemy has been stopped and pushed back everywhere; moreover – we are now transitioning to a counteroffensive!”

You cotton-wool TV viewers, does nothing bother you?

Putin again made a powerful impact on the information space.

Today, they tell us that we violated the Charter of the United Nations. I don’t think so. On the contrary, I am confident that we fully complied with the UN Charter… The West started the war in Ukraine. That’s exactly how it all happened, and denying it is impossible. We, on our part, did everything to resolve this crisis peacefully… There are no violations of the UN Charter here!

What does all this mean? It means he is convinced that all people on Earth only watch Russian channels and read Russian newspapers.

Moreover, people don’t communicate with each other and have no opinion on any matter. Every time they need to find out what’s going on, they type in Google: “Putin’s speech on Ukraine” and thus find out what is happening right now.

Putin has a psychological disorder (which is quite common) where a person makes up some nonsense or a blatant lie and then anxiously observes the audience. If he doesn’t face resistance and/or is not corrected, after a short time, he repeats it with more confidence. If no one objects, even this time, he starts stating it as something self-evident. And after a couple of days, he genuinely believes that it is true.

Once he had the thought that it wasn’t Russia, but the West, that started the war, and in his circle, he encountered no objections. Now he sells this “thought” to African leaders (and, along with them – to all of humanity) as something obvious and indisputable.

Think about it: “The West started the war in Ukraine. That’s exactly how it all happened, and denying it is impossible.”

Do you understand?

Suppose you are his guest, an African leader. You are a polite person; you don’t want to argue with him. You just received forgiveness of debts worth billions of dollars from him, etc.

But at the same time, you don’t watch Solovyov’s, Kiselyov’s, and Skabeeva’s shows; you don’t know and don’t understand how the Russian information space works, not least because you don’t speak Russian.

Your understanding of the situation in Ukraine is based on watching CNN news, reading the New York Times, and your local media (whose credibility you know well). You have a clear and distinct understanding of who started this war and what happened on February 24 last year.

But Putin doesn’t know about your understanding. His worldview is different. And with disarming simplicity, he tells you that the West started the war in Ukraine, and it is so obvious that arguing about it is pointless. For him, it’s already the truth. He himself believes it.

You are in an utterly absurd position: firstly, you know for sure that it’s nonsense, and you feel terribly uncomfortable that you are facing a person who is obviously suffering from some mental disorder, and this disorder is so severe that his worldview dramatically differs from reality.

A terrible, terrible misfortune has befallen all of us. Putin must go. Every second of his stay in power is a terrible insult to human civilization and an enormous threat to it.

I hope that the main outcome of this “Russia-Africa” summit is African leaders’ understanding of this simple truth.

The closer the empire’s collapse, the crazier its laws.”

Those who disagree with the war will be punished like bandits or killers and ruined.

The finale of the spring session was rich in repressive initiatives. Everything related to dissent regarding the war, whether a refusal to participate in it or its condemnation, is now considered a crime comparable in severity to violent crimes.

Here’s what awaits those disloyal to the current regime after Putin signs the new laws:

  • Treason now carries a sentence of up to life imprisonment (with 20 years being the minimum). Opposition figure Vladimir Kara-Murza was sentenced to 25 years under this charge, along with “fake news about the army.”
  • The maximum sentence for terrorist activities has been increased to 20 years (from 15 years). The State Duma strengthened criminal responsibility for acts of sabotage as well.
  • Spreading fakes about any participants in special operations, including volunteers of the “Wagner Group,” can now lead to 15 years in prison. Discrediting them can result in up to seven years behind bars.
  • Assisting foreign courts that convict Russian officials and deputies can lead to a fine of up to 1 million rubles or up to five years in prison.
  • A fine of up to 1 million rubles or an arrest for up to 15 days can be imposed for distributing maps that challenge the territorial integrity of Russia.
  • Employers can now face fines of up to 500,000 rubles for failing to present hired employees subject to mobilization to the military registration and enlistment office. Last year, such penalties did not exceed 5,000 rubles.
  • A fine of up to 300,000 rubles awaits those who help foreign agents violate Russian laws.
  • The fine for individuals who criticize the army has increased to 50,000 rubles.
  • The fine for failing to appear at the military registration and enlistment office after receiving a summons has increased tenfold, up to 30,000 rubles.
