Russia says that British Challenger 2 tanks will be ineffective in Ukraine. Well, they always say that bringing some unknown “expert” gives his subjective opinion. Let’s look a little bit bellow at the discussion

It is planned that the British battle tank “Challenger 2” will be transferred to Kyiv in mid-April. Ukrainian tankers have almost completed training on their operation and maintenance in the UK.
However, this is the only relatively modern tank that is still equipped with a rifled gun: other developed countries completed the transition to smoothbore guns back in the 80s. The striking power of the British tank gun is much smaller and the accuracy of fire is worse, compatibility with ammunition of other Western tanks is limited, and is still equipped with an outdated first-generation thermal imager. At the same time, the Russian T-90M already uses third-generation thermal imaging sights. That is, it is two generations more modern. Also of particular note is the weak armor and the mass of the British tank, which is more than 60 tons – which may be incompatible with the Ukrainian infrastructure, especially bridges
